Abby & Jared's Catholic Wedding at Holy Cross Parish, Batavia & Aurora Country Club

Some weddings feel like a celebration of two people. Abby and Jared's felt like a celebration of an entire community, one built on faith, friendship, and a whole lot of love. As a Chicago Catholic wedding photographer, these are the days I treasure most.

Abby and Jared were married at Holy Cross Catholic Parish in Batavia, Illinois. From the moment I walked in, the church was full of people who didn't just know this couple; they had walked alongside them. The Catholic wedding Mass was beautiful and heartfelt, the hymns were sung with real joy, and there were more than a few happy tears in the pews (and maybe behind my camera too!) Holy Cross is one of my favorite churches in the Fox Valley for wedding photography. The light, the architecture, and the reverence of the space make every ceremony feel timeless.

A Wedding Day Surrounded by Their People

One of the most special parts of this Batavia wedding? Abby and Jared knew every single one of their vendors. These weren't strangers hired for the day; they were friends, people with shared memories and stories, and that made all the difference. Everyone on the team was there because they loved this couple, and it showed in every detail. It was so moving to see the faithful, deeply loving community Abby and Jared have built. Laughter, tears, and hugs that lasted a little longer than usual. This day had all of it.

Rainy Wedding Day Photos with Clear Umbrellas

The forecast didn't exactly cooperate, but rain on your wedding day can create some of the most romantic images. We grabbed clear umbrellas and made the most of every moment, and those rainy wedding photos quickly became a fan favorite. There's something so dreamy about two newlyweds tucked under a clear umbrella, rain falling all around, completely wrapped up in each other.

If you're worried about rain on your own wedding day, let this be your reminder: with the right plan (and a few clear umbrellas), rainy weddings can be absolutely stunning.

The celebration continued at Aurora Country Club, where family and friends gathered to eat, toast, and dance the night away. This Aurora Country Club wedding reception was full of warmth, and the joy carried straight through from the ceremony to the last song of the night. The club's classic setting made a beautiful backdrop for reception photos and candid moments on the dance floor.

Abby and Jared, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day. You were an absolute dream to work with, and I'm so grateful I got to witness the love you share with each other and with everyone around you. God bless your marriage!
